Fees
The doctors practising at Highbury Medical Centre offer mixed billing.
Bulk billing is available for all children aged under 16, Australian students, Pensioners, and Health Care Card holders.
International students will be billed in accordance with the agreed arrangement between the practice and the student’s health insurance company.
For all other patients, an appointment fee may apply. Your appointment fee will depend on the type of appointment and the duration. Consultation fees are payable in full at the time of consultation by cash, EFTPOS, or credit card. A list of consultation fees is available here, or call us, and our friendly reception team will explain the fee structure to you. If you are entitled to a Medicare rebate, this can be reimbursed at the time of payment. Patients with financial difficulties should speak with reception staff prior to an appointment, either in person or via telephone.
WorkCover/MVA claims are the patient's responsibility until a claim is supplied. Some other services, such as insurance, medicals for diving courses and medicals for employers, cannot be claimed from Medicare. Personal accounts are issued for these services, and patients are asked to pay the account as soon as possible or pass the account to the appropriate authority for payment.
Fees for investigations (such as xrays) and specialist appointments are the patient's responsibility. Information on how much these fees will be can be obtained when booking the appointment.
Please note that there may be additional costs for other GP service items or clinic services such as wound care products, consumable items, and specific administrative requests (e.g. transfer of medical records). For a full list of fees, please see the reception team.
